Bible Study

The Orthodox Life Study Group will begin another fall session on Tuesday, September 11th. This group will be gathering to study the book of Revelation. We will meet on Tuesday afternoons from 2:30-4:00 in the Board Room. Please remember five points necessary for studying scripture. First is faith: a commitment, resolve and acceptance of Christ into our life. Second is prayer: to have our life be in communion with God. This kind of relationship makes our hearts and minds receptive to God’s written word. Next is study: which helps us under-stand the truth in the scriptures. Fourth is application: the gospel is not a Gospel unless you live it. Finally is witness: sharing the Good News not only intellectually but spiritually as well. Please feel free to join us!     (Fr. Christopher P. Foustoukos)

A second Bible study is offered on Wednesdays 10 am and 7pm. This study takes place in the conference room. We are going through St. Mark’s Gospel drawing parallels with the other two synoptic evangelists St. Mathew and St. Look as well as St. John’s Gospel. Interpretation is based on Orthodox sources such as St. John Chrisostom (4th Century) and other supportive texts in the context of the entire Bible.       (Fr. Anthony S. Tandilyan)
