Biography
Fr. Yanni was born in Katerini Greece, and raised in the small town of Leptokaria by the foothills of mount Olympus, where he attended
school until the end of the third grade. He and his family moved to Roslindale Massachusetts the summer before starting his fourth grade school year. Growing up in Roslindale, as a member of the St. Nectarios Church. He was an active member of the parish youth groups and participated in many of the Metropolis-wide ministries. Following his senior year of high school Fr Yanni joined the MBC Staff and served the camp for over ten years, he met his future wife Marina at one of the youth retreats.
While attending Hellenic College and Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology he continued his involvement with the Metropolis Athletic and Camping ministries. He served at various Archdiocesan camps and youth programs fine tuning his skills, talents and strategic planning for youth ministry.
In August of 2015 he married the love of his life Marina at her home parish of Saints Constantine and Helen's Church in Andover. In the spring of 2017 on the feast of Constantine and Helen he was ordained to the Diaconate by Metropolitan Methodios in Andover, and three days later on the Apodosis of Pascha he was ordained to the Holy Priesthood in his home parish of Saint Nectarios in Roslindale by the Metropolitan.
He is excited and ready to serve in this new capacity as he assists Fr. Chris in reaching out to the youth and young adults to support engage and encourage their active participation in the life and ministries of the Church, as well as entire community of the faith at Saint Vasilios (Basil) the Great parish in Peabody MA.
